If Sins supports 4 cores it IS the first game ever, not even Crysis or FarCry 2 support 4 cores, its simply to hard to program and split all the operations and calculations into different cores.
Dual Core's have always been the way to go for gaming, and will be for a long time yet.
Also, I found that file about 15 mintues before you PM'd me, changed it, and I got upto 3000 ships, no lag, No Bullsh*t.
Although I did change the number from 2000 to 4000, I made it to 3000, before I got bored of waiting for all the ships to build, plus I increased the rescource rate of tax and crystal and metal.
Which is heaps good, huge battles yay!
Still gonna tweak around a bit more and reduce the slots capital ships take, other then that, im happy

No, only in the last few years since they hit the mainstream
(Which quad cores are now doing...)

You guys know once I get my God box resurrected I'm going to give Multi a run for the money.
Anyway, nice stuff some of those images should be on a few of the reviews on other sites (as well as this one in the media section) so people become true believers thus Sinners!

You obviously never played Supreme Commander, which can handle up to 16 cores at once. Not very efficiently past the first 4 mind you, but it can use them all. And with a player made Core Thread tweaking utility it will use up to 8 cores very effectively.
But you're right that very few games use multiple cores effectively. But there are a few out there.

^Strange that.
My mate with a quad core plays sup com, it only ever max's out a single core, my laptop's dual core is only ever at 50% too (1 core)
It is an even crappier game if it supports 16 cores, but not 2 or 4

This alone could have made me buy the game. Lol.

Not really, there isn't enough there in the space parts.

It does, but it lets Windows do the distribution, AMD DualCore drivers actually make that work a little better than the Intel version. Core 0 is maxed out almost immediately. Look around the GPGnet forums for Boris' Core Maximizer, that will redistribute the threads for SupCom much more effeciently than the game itself does. The multi-threading of SupCom isn't as high as it could be, since then it wouldn't run on single core CPUs. And since distributing of the threads is left to Windows, most of it will end up on Core 0 rather than the others. That little prog fixes that, i've had huge games where i was looking at close to 90% load on both my CPUs cores.
