Spore Creature Creator was released on a game magazine and after that it went on the net really fast.

I know theres a Spore thread, but it would be nice to have a thread all to itself for images of your creatures.

So if you dont wanna wait until the 17th, download the trial version from here

Back in 2005 when Spore was JUST being introduced at GDC 2005, Will Wright was talking about the inevitable rise of production costs of making games. So... instead of having content created for the user, the user creates the content.

I've been waiting SINCE GDC 2005...

So they didn't have the full version at Target or Gamestop... TO AMAZON!!!

EDIT: checked the website... I AM SICK OF THESE DAMNED DELAYS. Guess I'll see if stores have it tomorrow...

I don't fault them for delays. Making games isn't exactly an easy thing to do, so I don't blame them.

I do however, hold their feet to the fire with regards to another issue, and that's DRM. But that's straying a bit off topic.

It's kinda bittersweet that I like playing with the creature creator, I love the creature creator, but I'm sad that I won't be buying Spore.

oh yeah people, try to click the center of the galaxy so that you only see the galaxy itself. Then spin the galaxy and release the mouse button

While browsing through this I just figured out something...Back in 2005 when Spore was JUST being introduced at GDC 2005, Will Wright was talking about the inevitable rise of production costs of making games. So... instead of having content created for the user, the user creates the content. This led me to thinking.... So the jobs of content creation has essentially been outsourced. Not only that, we have to PAY $10 just for the privilege of creating content, rather than E.A. paying us for content provided for their game.Uh-huh....

Some people like to destroy for their fun. Others prefer to create.

Anyway, since the Sporepedia is up, I've been browsing through that as well as their forums. Interesting stuff.

Also, if you want the CC in stores, you'll have to get it from the new SimCity game. Right now, the full version seems to be direct download only.

New beastie. I originally tried to create a Beholder but due to the lack of option for the creation I could not get it right then to top it off with no legs it fell to teh ground so I extended the body and added legs. The full tools is like $10 and I may go ahead and jump in and get it. Pretty fun program and the kids are digging it as well.

Actually, if you read the EULA, EA reserves the right to use your creations not only in the game, but in advertising, websites, expansions... pretty much anywhere.

Of course, that's about standard contract when writing software (source code right go to the one who ordered), only with the twist that - with the CC - we PAY EA so they can use our creations.

I have to admit, someone at EA is a genius for figuring this out.

that was supposed to be the point of the game as will wright allready explained in 2005.

instead of creating a "world" for the player to play in, the player can create its own world any wich way he or she pleases.
also they dont have to create thousands of worlds for us to visit as the spore community creates everything themselves.

also u dont pay ea so they can use your creations, u pay them for the game/tools to make it with and everything u make is part of the game.
Its not like u made a mod or something.
Also if u want to share ur creations u have to clik a button to do so.

Now im not defending ea's screwed up way of handeling their clients or their nazi-like their copy protection, im just saying that the creations people make in spore is what makes the game.
so what else would u put in ur advertisement then the top rated creations in the game, screens of the creature, vehicle and building creator?

All of these silly 'legged' creatures! Pah! Legs are out, funky no-legged beasties are in!

Witness the beauty of Handsome Herber, so named as all must surely agree that he is the handsomest beastie in all of Sporeville.

Made something like the Antlion in Half-Life 2. Very good flyer (although in Spore, it's more like gliding?), very aggressive.

Quite proud of how this came out. Utterly impractical when it comes to eating, but me and my two year old came up with this one. The Wooble.

This was the first we came up with. The Camosaur.

Here are two new creatures that I made recently. The first one was uploaded, but it still hasn't shown up on my profile or on the Sporepedia. The second one is up, but it seems like someone didn't like it.

Both of them took me some time to fine-tune.

They have butts

Yes, they do. It took me some time to get the proportion correct.

In case you guys were interested, you can search for 'Angelesque' in the Sporepedia and my angel-like creature will come up. The Succubesque creature can be found via links in my spore profile. It's currently not searchable nor is it listed in my profile, all due to errors that are affecting some users.
